Children’s book review: Magic Happens in the Unscramble Box

Life as a Quantum-Touch practitioner has led me to meet so many likeminded and inspiring people. In 2013 I gave a Quantum-Touch talk at the annual Association of Meridian and Energy Therapies conference.

Lisa Jennings volunteered to come up on stage and experience balancing hip bones with energy. After Lisa experienced her hip pain diminish she attended a QT workshop and a special friendship was born.

Lisa has nearly 60 years of experience under her belt as a psychotherapist, acupuncturist, clinical nutritionist, hypnotherapist and as a practitioner of many energy therapies. She was one of the first people in the world to start working with family therapy and was one of the first people to combine hypnosis and birthing. In fact, Lisa kindly created a bespoke hypnosis audio for me when I was pregnant which I listened to everyday for several months with great impact..

So when I heard that Lisa and two colleagues, Gaynor Sbuttoni and Melissa Carter, were writing a children’s book I knew it was going to be tangibly magical.

I can honestly say that Magic Happens in the Unscramble Box is the most engaging, beautiful, colourful, meaningful and practical children’s book that I have read with my children.

The story itself tells the tale of two lovable dragons, called Bella and Bean, who fly off the pages and into the minds and hearts of children and adults alike.

“In a time when children struggle with feelings of anger, sadness, and frustration, this story offers a whole box of tools, which children can make their own, to help ease their feelings and manage better. Every reader will learn how to become resourceful and mindful.”

In Self Created Health we learn how disruptive suppressed anger can be and how healthy it is to be give a safe outlet to express our feelings. This book teaches children how to process emotions in a healthy way. The story beautifully conveys how transient feelings can be and to accept them with presence. As well as being so captivatingly illustrated, “Magic in the Unscramble Box” offers expressive solutions to help the reader unravel their feelings and create more mental space.

This book is a gift to anyone that reads it and is written with such grace, sensitivity and joy that I felt absolutely inspired as a parent by the end of it. My kids and I loved every second of it and we all highly reading recommend it!
